ART RUCKUS
celebrates art-making that wakes us up, takes risks, helps us laugh at life and see differently.

AHNA FENDER
is a globe-roving wordsmith and self-taught artist whose work is inspired by time spent living in Spain, Chile and India. Influences include the work of artists Frida Kahlo, Marc Chagall, Romare Bearden, Jean-Michel Basquiat and the poetry of Federico Garcia Lorca.

Ahna's current artwork utilizes diverse materials, including oil stick and pastels, acrylic paint, fabric scraps, recycled junk and found objects. She enjoys collaborating with other artists and stimulating her muse through improvisational dance and 'Tool Skool,' a weekly play-shop with power tools. Ahna has exhibited her artwork in Canada and the United States.
